The Swiss Kollektiv dance me to the end invited choreographer Fabrice Mazliah to set in motion this creative process exploring dancers’ embodiment and voices. Like weather passing, individual movement vocabularies and collective negotiations pass over the stage and merge, resonating the space with abstract sounds, movement qualities, images, and associations. By stripping away conventional storytelling and focusing on emotional states in their raw, abstract form, the piece opens space for the audience to engage on their own terms. There is no singular meaning, no fixed narrative — only an intricate web of emotions unfolding in real-time, inviting interpretation, reflection, and resonance.
Created especially for and with the unique Kollektiv dance me to the end — composed of artists over the age of sixty—Mazliah’s piece making a sullen roar foregrounds the diverse interpretive contributions and distinct personalities of its eight performers, each of whom actively shaped the project’s context and aesthetics.
