Y is a communicative, performative reflection on what a stage work could be from the point of view of a choreographer. It uses the musicality and rhythmical structures of questions as its partition, delivered by the voice of the single performer. Y is a guided tour, which moves the spectator through the intellectual, the sensorial and the imaginary, suggesting a poetic field of possible scenarios. The piece evolves into a one sided conversation, a monologue in which language takes the place of the theatrical effects and becomes its music - its essence.
Y emerges from the wish to reveal that which is behind the choreographic process, behind composition, behind the visible form.
